Ideas for a non-verbal performative presentation
I imagine myself naked – wearing a black men boxerbrief and a golden cylindrical mask.
I imagine people in the room but I am not there. There is a ladder, the red slanted table, a vacuum machine, jar with chickpeas, two beamers on a tripod (ON), a PAR lamp on a tripod (ON), a long sheet of paper on the floor. Under this sheet of paper is golden glitter.
The beamer is pointed to the wall. It rolls out a list of instructions: Please follow these instructions: 1. Please lift up the paper on the floor from both ends and place it on the table. 2. Choose the way you want to put it on, then turn it over so that the words are visible. 3. Please spill the chickpeas in the jar on the floor, within the black tape border. 4. Please turn on the vacuum cleaner. 5. Please remove the lens cap from the other beamer.
" I WANT THIS MOMENT TO LAST FOREVER"
I walk into the room. I have a bluetooth speaker with a song on. I lay on the floor and roll very slowly over the glitter. My upper body is covered in honey. When I reach the ladder I stretch upwards on it, stretching my body between the ladder and the vacuum machine, my back over the dry chickpeas on the floor.
The projection where the instructions were now shows:
"It is hard to let go, when you know this is good and do not know what comes after. We and me and her and I and us are still in the courting phase. We and me and her and I and us are very thankful for this platform. We and me and her and I and us find it hard to let go. We and me and her and I and us find it hard to let go. We and me and her and I and us find it hard to let go. We and me and her and I and us are finding it really hard to let go."
